Riquewihr - Ribeauvillé: flower and wine villages
Riquewihr is one of the most picturesque villages of France of the 16th century, according to the association Les plus beaux villages de France, with splendidly preserved medieval architecture, including the ramparts and the watchtower Dolder. The traditional center for the production of classic Alsatian Riesling. The famous wine producer HUGEL & Fils since 1639.
Ribeauvillé is a very beautiful half-timbered town located between the vineyards and the mountains, one of the oldest towns in Alsace. The majestic ruins of the three castles of the Lords of Ribeaupierre tower above the town. The vineyards surrounding Ribeauvillé exist since the Middle Ages. Tasting of rustic Alsatian wines (Riesling, Muscat, Pinot gris, Gewürztraminer, Pinot noir) in traditional peasant wine cellars.
